The Korea Potting Soil Manufacturers Association held its inaugural general meeting on the 4th at the main conference room of Hotel Castle in Suwon and commenced full-scale activities.
At the meeting, attended by representatives from 12 domestic potting soil manufacturers, Koo Chang-hoe, CEO of Nonggyeong Co., Ltd., was elected as the first chairman. Lee Jong-cheol, President of Pungnong Co., Ltd., and Cha Dong-cheon, President of Dongbu Hannong Co., Ltd.,
were appointed as vice-chairmen, while Choi Gyu-seol, President of Nongwoo Green Tech Co., Ltd., and Kim Tae-seong, President of Tobitech Co., Ltd., were appointed as auditors.
In its statement of purpose, the Korea Potting Soil Manufacturers Association stated, "At a time when domestic demand and supply for potting soil are continuously increasing, the reality is that potting soil accidents are occurring due to a lack of accumulated production technology and insufficient ability to collect and utilize advanced information." The
association further announced that it would "devote its full efforts to the sound development of the domestic potting soil industry, promote camaraderie among industry members, share technology and provide advanced information to induce the production of high-quality potting soil, protect the rights and interests of the industry, and enhance the satisfaction of agricultural consumers."
The Korea Growing Soil Manufacturers Association plans to establish and implement a comprehensive plan for the development of the domestic growing soil industry, including the overhaul of quality control systems, as part of its business plan for this year
. It also intends to implement measures to revitalize the distribution of growing soil raw materials and products, and build a close cooperative system with member companies and related organizations
through the joint utilization of advanced information. In his inaugural address, Chairman Koo Chang-hoe, who was elected as the first president on this day, stated, “I will do my utmost to firmly establish the position of growing soil in Korean agriculture by actively promoting the importance and necessity of the growing soil industry.” He further added,
“I will lay the foundation for protecting the rights and interests of member companies by expanding the growing soil market, developing high-quality growing soil to supply the best products to agricultural consumers, and conducting research and development on future growing soil.”

Ltd., Woopoong Bio Co., Ltd., Chamgro Co., Ltd., Tobitech Co., Ltd., Pungnong Co., Ltd., and KG Chemical Co., Ltd.
